Identify each part and its instructions
Before first use, identify the clean-water tank, dirty-water tank, roller, separators, filter and dock. Do not assume they all permit the same rinsing or drying method. Match each part to its manual section, including removal and refitting conditions.
This is useful before purchase too. An exploded diagram or illustrated sequence shows how many actions are involved. Check whether the tank fits under your tap, where removed parts can sit and whether the filter is accessible without moving the whole dock.
Set up a practical maintenance area
Choose a location that meets the manual’s requirements and leaves working room. Plan the route between dock, water supply and drying area. A snug alcove becomes inconvenient if everything must be moved to remove a tank. Appliance dimensions do not include this working clearance.
Keep the specified maintenance tools and documents nearby. Avoid unapproved solution mixtures or substitutions. The approved product reference and dose matter more than a similar colour or scent. This guide does not recommend homemade cleaning mixtures.
Understand automatic and manual roller cleaning
The three pilot models state automatic roller cleaning and hot-air drying. This does not establish that tanks, filters and other parts need no attention. Read every after-use step, not just the automatic cycle duration.
A high dock temperature alone does not establish household hygiene. A short cycle does not mean identical total preparation time. Homavise has not measured maintenance duration, ease of dismantling or the roller’s actual condition after drying.
Turn the manual into a personal checklist
Make a short checklist for before cleaning, after cleaning and periodic checks at the stated frequency. Include only actions for your model and keep the full manual link. Conditions such as complete drying before refitting must remain explicit.
If several people use the cleaner, a shared checklist avoids assumptions. State where removed parts go. Ready to store does not necessarily mean ready to use again if drying is unfinished. Do not shorten drying just to meet an arbitrary schedule.
What if the vacuum mop or roller smells?
An odour, alert, leak or unusual noise calls for the troubleshooting section. Record the circumstances and exact message. Stop when the manual requires it and contact the appropriate support team if the cause remains unclear. Adding fragrance or detergent is not a diagnosis.
Prepare the full name, model number, purchase date and actions already taken. Photos of the part or error message can help; avoid sharing personal invoice details publicly. This record also helps identify a compatible replacement rather than buying a similar-looking part.
Make maintenance part of the buying decision
Compare routines you can realistically maintain. Tank access, documentation and identifiable consumables are more useful than an “effortless cleaning” claim. When a step or replacement part is undocumented, treat it as uncertainty rather than assuming no work is needed.
Practical answers
Frequently asked questions
Does self-cleaning remove the need to empty the dirty-water tank?
No. Follow the emptying and cleaning routine in the manual. The automatic roller cycle does not replace every task.
Can I use ordinary household detergent?
Use only a solution and dose approved for the model. We do not recommend unverified substitutes.
How often should I replace the roller?
There is no universal interval here. Check the model’s instructions and the part’s condition; usage matters.
What if the filter is still damp?
Follow the manufacturer’s drying and refitting conditions. Roller drying does not establish that the filter is ready.
Does hot drying guarantee no smells?
We have no measurements supporting that guarantee. The result also depends on the full routine and the condition of the parts.
